Hestercombe House & Gardens Wedding Photography – Nikki and Andy

Nikki had been a guest at a couple of weddings I’d photographed, so I was very happy when she got in touch to book me for her beautiful day at Hestercombe House & Gardens.

They chose Hestercombe as the venue as it was actually where they had their first date. Although they didn’t initially think about it, after it came up on a wedding venue search it felt like the natural and perfect choice. They loved that the gardens were a place they would be able to visit again, which isn’t always possible with some venues.

They didn’t have a strong view on colours for a theme but Nikki knew she wanted flowers that were in season and colourful. After they accidentally found Andy’s suit, tie and pocket square whilst walking through M&S for something completely unrelated, it began the accessory theme of pale pink mixed with gold accents. They didn’t realise how perfectly this would fit with the flowers until they collected them the day before the wedding. An old school friend, Sophia’s Blooms, created the perfect mix of colourful flowers – some of which she grew herself, a personal touch that was very much appreciated.

Nikki’s dress was around the 15th she tried on and instantly knew it was the one. It fitted well, was off white which suited her colouring more and had small flower appliqués throughout the top half and with the venue being in a large garden it suited the whole aesthetic really well.
