Cockington is my favourite place in Torquay; it’s perfect for walks, tea, foraging for wine-making and of course, weddings! Therefore I was delighted to shoot Rachael and Tobi’s intimate ceremony there recently. This lovely couple were big on travel, so I was honoured that I could help make this trip extra special for them! They were joined by their best friends and I love being able to capture small, intimate occasions such as this one. The weather was meant to be awful, but wasn’t – hence the best man carrying the bride’s umbrella!
Rachael’s stunning wedding dress was purchased from a charity shop (originally by Chi Chi London) and is an absolute triumph! Her simply beautiful wedding bouquet is from The Artisan Dried Flower Company, which I recognised straight away, having admired them myself on Etsy. I am a huge fan of dried flower bouquets; they can not only be kept forever but look amazing.
Rachael’s gorgeous shoes were by Papaya at Asos.
Thank you to Rachael and Tobi for inviting me to join your wonderful wedding. I love photographing weddings at Cockington Court so much that I offer a special Cockington Court package! If you would like to leave a comment below, please feel free. And, if you are interested in booking me as your wedding photographer, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
Tom & Naomi married surrounded by their closest family in a relaxed ceremony at Cockington Court, Torquay. They are both maths geeks & teachers and met doing their PGCE. They fell in love within a month of meeting & it’s clear to see almost 6 years later how completely in love & perfect for each other they are. I had so much fun meeting them & documenting their ceremony!
I absolutely love documenting intimate weddings at Cockington Court and have a special package for them! If you’re getting married there & looking for a wedding photographer in Torbay, get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
Cailin & Ben booked me around a month before their big day due to a mistake by their original photographer and I feel so lucky that I was available to be their photographer, I absolutely loved capturing their relaxed, fun wedding at the Toorak Hotel, Torquay.
Inspired by pinterest, this wedding was 4 years in the making, with Cailin creating flower girl dresses, the bouquets, all the decorations and invites, making everything very personal and romantic. Ben provided lots of patience and cups of tea! Cailin loved making everything for the wedding so much that it inspired them to do it as a business!
Their wedding was all about making memories and making it last. Doing everything DIY meant that they could have their big dream wedding within their budget.
Cailin’s beautiful hair & makeup were done by WO Salon and she looked stunning in her dress from Brides at Waterfields! The bridesmaids wore Chi Chi London dresses and Cailin made the flower girl dresses, her bridal belt and the bridesmaid bracelets. The flower arch on the gazebo, the chair flowers, rhinestone clips on the sashes and the hanging glass baubles and roses were all beautifully made by Cailin.Caitlin made the beautiful bouquets because she wanted to keep them after the wedding, it’s now hung on the wall with the photo charms of her Nana, best friend Jules and uncle Aidan. There were lots of kids at Cailin & Ben’s wedding, so they made sure there was plenty on fun things for them to do with a bouncy castle, ball pit and play area from Teign Bounce and Play.Jimmy Ireland played throughout the day, for Cailin walking down the aisle, during the drinks reception and the first dance. The mirror table plan, centre pieces, top table swag, sloe gin favours and place names were made by Cailin. The sloe gin was especially important to Cailin and her Irish family, it was the last drink they all had with her uncle who passed away too early.Cailins mum Janet and her sister Siobhan made all these beautiful cakes!

I met Rachel & Lisa about 3 weeks before their wedding! Having been let down by their original photographer, I was absolutely thrilled to step in and photograph this amazing couple and their 2 part wedding!
Rachel & Lisa officially got married on Friday at Cockington Court, Torquay, with their closest family with them. It was a super happy day, full of smiles and laugher, especially when Lisa called Rachel her awful wedded wife in the ceremony.
It poured with rain, but that didn’t dampen spirits and luckily it dried up in time for their beach celebrations the day after, which I’ll be sharing very soon!
The next Devon Wedding Show in Torbay is this Sunday (11/9/16) so I thought I would share a few photographs from the last show. It’s a pleasure to not only exhibit here amongst 40+ of the best local suppliers, but to also be the event photographer. The fashion show that Serenity put on, showcasing their beautiful wedding dresses, is always excellent to watch and photograph, with the wonderful models provided by Sigma Studios.

Hope to see you there
One of my favourite things about being a wedding photographer are the stories behind my couples. One couple almost met in Bucharest 18 months before being introduced to each other in Barcelona, some have been friends for too long before realising the love, or fallen in love instantly after meeting online. Every story is different and perfect. From Maureen’s initial email to me, I knew I wanted to be a part of their story.
Maureen and Campbell have been together for 30 years, with 2 almost weddings along the way. On the 15th April with their daughter, grandson, close family and friends, they finally became husband and wife at the beautiful Cockington Court, Torquay.
Beautiful Maureen’s outfit and hat are from Jacques Vert and her silk flowers from Rose Boutique in Wigan.
“Our wedding was a small affair with a few family and friends in attendance and Holly blended in beautifully throughout the ceremony and she even shed a tear along with our family who had waited 30 years for us to finally tie the knot. When we received the photographs it was delightful to see that she had not only captured the event but had also captured the very atmosphere so well and we re-lived every happy moment of it. I had specifically asked for mainly photographs capturing everyone there and not just us two and she did just that. Thank you Holly for being part of our day, I am so pleased that you were our photographer, you are a very talented young lady.” – Maureen and Campbell
I first met Jess at The Devon Wedding Show. She exuded enthusiasm and excitement when we spoke and looked through the albums on my table – Jess is the kind of person who lights up a room! A few months later, after I assumed they’d found another photographer, I was thrilled to get an email from her wanting to meet up.
They had reservations about wedding photography as they were both camera shy and didn’t think they photographed well – nonsense. I think my response was “you’re a ridiculously good looking couple”.
But that’s not important anyway! On your wedding day, you glow with a happiness which will always be beautiful behold and document. And as a documentary photographer, I assured them that they would barely notice me throughout the day.
Their order of services were made by Jess’s Aunty and Cousin. The lads looked smashing in their navy blue suits by Peter Posh from Angel Face, Newton Abbot. Terri-Kate Lee sang beautifully as Jess walked down the aisle, and again during the register signing.Jess wore Emma by Maggie Sottero in Ivory from Brides at Waterfields, Torquay, and had a beautiful rose and ivy bouquet from Rosebuds Florist, Torquay, who also provided the flowers for the bridesmaids bouquets created by Jess’s Aunty. This amazing snowman and holly cake was made by Jess’s twin sister Rachel. The lovely room decorations were done by Jess, family and friends. The bridesmaids midnight blue dresses are by by Dessy Dresses from Brides at Waterfields, Torquay. Chocolate Tiers South West supplied their much enjoyed Chocolate Fountain.Hope you enjoyed viewing this beautiful wedding, leave a comment below to let me know!

Family photography for me is all about the real, unscripted, unposed moments that naturally occur and this family were oodles of fun to work with. They booked this Torquay Family Photography Session to give grandma a beautiful family photo for her 80th birthday.
We went to Torre Abbey Sands, Torquay to capture these moments. It was a cold one, but the sun shone for us. Absolutely love these photos, so much fun to create!
At the end of the session, Martha’s dad very kindly let her warm her very cold hands on his back *shivers*

It was a pleasure to create these photos for Virginia’s new business and website Focus Yourself – offering healing breaks, life changing courses and bespoke services for massage therapy and yoga.

A beautiful end to a busy day! I love Meadfoot Beach, many happy times have been spent here and it was the perfect location for these photos.
