Jon and Emily fell in love with The Oak Barn on their first visit! It’s not only a gorgeous venue but they manage the land for the benefit of the wildlife and have beautifully restored the barns.
They wanted to have a relaxed atmosphere, full of colour, fun, food and dancing! A summer wedding just seemed the right fit – plus with both having winter birthdays, they were excited to celebrate their anniversary in a warm month.
Food was important to them. They love a taco and wanted to avoid having food envy of other peoples meals so opted for sharing boards. Fig & Smoke came up with some insanely tasty build your own taco sharer boards! Emily and her mum also made a couple hundred pasties for the post ceremony pint and pasty!
They really ran with DIY! Making signs, cake, pasties, pies, and crates for beer! Their incredible family and friends all pitched in. Their friend Lewis even made a buzzwire with their initials, and corn toss. They did BYOB instead of a bar, with boxes of beer, cider and wine from them for guests to share.
Perhaps indecision for one colour but also loving a mismatch colour theme, Emily’s bridesmaids each had a different colour and style dress. Jon had a beautiful suit from Zebel, in his favourite colour green, while his best men were in blue.
Their wedding culminated in the most epic silent disco! Jon and Emily each curated a playlist and a third channel was filled with their family and friends requests. Everyone worked that dancefloor (and even out into the gardens). It was so much fun! So many songs had memories with different people there.
Their rings were by Milly Maunder and April Doubleday.
The lovely Rebecca Jordan beautifully did hair and makeup!
Emily stunned in her beautiful dress from La Boutique. Her beautiful flowers are by The Good Flower Company.
